******************************************************************************* How to merge the filter update file with the release config ******************************************************************************* Newly added filters or those that need to be deleted - if any - are listed in the comment at the top. Obsolete header filters must be deleted BEFORE merging! Copy the entire file content to the clipboard. Then open Proxomitron's main window and select "Merge config filters" in the "File" menu. Check "Merge data from Clipboard" in the Config Filter Merge-O-Matic. Open the "HTML Web Page Filters" window and you'll see the updated filters shown in red, but ONLY THOSE that you haven't merged already. Move each new version to the position of the previous one, delete latter, and close that window. Open the "HTTP Header Filters" window. The procedure is similar to the one above, but no moving around is necessary as things get alpha sorted here anyway. Finally save the config. Please do a "Configure -> OK -> Save -> Reload" a couple of times to get the merged header filters into the right position. To point it out once more: Although the filter update file is cumulative, you don't have to deal with those filters again that you've merged with a previous update. The Merge-O-Matic just ignores them. ******************************************************************************* Three-minutes-alternative ******************************************************************************* If you didn't change much in the config, or don't mind to customize it again, or if you've installed the set for the first time, then there is a quicker way to update it: Click on "Other updates" on the Downloads page and you'll get the file "update_other.zip". Unzip it into the folder where "Proxomitron.exe" resides, PRESERVING the zip's relative directory structure, overwriting any old files. Make a copy of the updated "sidki_oob.ptron" (inside the same folder as "Proxomitron.exe"), remove the read-only attribute (right-click the copy -> Properties -> Attributes), and rename it (use "default.cfg" if you want to have it loaded by default - back up the old config file with the same name beforehand, if present). *EOF*
